What is Hemford Assessments?

The First Learning Platform That Diagnoses, Prescribes, and Delivers

Hemford isn't another tutoring service or learning app. It's a complete educational support system that:

A young girl with shoulder-length light brown hair, wearing a purple patterned long-sleeve shirt, is sitting at a table with a tablet propped up, writing in a notebook with a colorful pencil. There are various art supplies and a box on the table, and she is focused on her task with a window and vertical blinds in the background.

How It Works

A young girl sitting on a white couch reading a book in a well-lit living room decorated in neutral tones with plants, pillows, and shelves.
  • Your child takes the AIMSweb+ Pearson Clinical Assessmentbenchmark test, the same assessment used by schools nationwide. We identify specific areas of strength and growth in reading, math, and writing.

  • Our AI instantly matches assessment results to targeted micro-lessons from our library of 500+ videos. Your child gets exactly what they need, nothing they don't.

  • Your dedicated coach meets with your child via video for 30-minute sessions. Together, they work on engaging projects that build both academic skills and executive function.

  • Every 3 months, we reassess and show you real data on your child's growth. No more wondering if tutoring is working.

Every Child's Mind is Magnificent. We Help Them Prove It.

At Hemford, we believe that children who learn differently aren't broken - the traditional education system is.

Our Story

Hemford Assessments was born from frustration and hope.

As a special education teacher with over two decades in the public school system, I watched brilliant children struggle not because they couldn't learn, but because we were teaching them wrong. I saw parents spend thousands on tutoring that didn't work, have repetitive school meetings that led nowhere, and children who started believing they were "stupid."

I knew there had to be a better way.

Working with hundreds of neurodivergent learners taught me three critical things:

  1. When you assess properly, you can teach precisely

  2. Project-based learning unlocks potential traditional worksheets never will

  3. Progress happens when kids feel understood, not fixed

Hemford Assessments brings together clinical assessment tools, AI-powered personalization, and human connection to create an education experience that actually works for kids whose minds work differently.

Our Approach

We Don't Teach to the Middle. We Teach to Your Child.

  • Data-driven decisions with creative exploration

  • Academic growth with life skill development

  • Child empowerment with parent support

  • Supervised by our clinical education team

FAQs

  • A: No diagnosis required! We welcome all learners who need a different approach. Our initial assessment helps identify needs regardless of labels.

  • A: Traditional tutoring teaches subjects. We teach your child how their brain learns best, then apply that to academics. Plus, we track progress with real data, not guesswork.

  • A: We specialize in grades 2-5, though we can accommodate motivated 1st graders and mature 6th graders on a case-by-case basis.

  • A: Our sessions are nothing like Zoom school. They're interactive, project-based, and only 30 minutes. Kids who "hate online learning" often love our approach because it's built for how they think.

  • A: Yes! Premium and Family plan members can bring homework to sessions. More importantly, we teach the underlying skills so homework gets easier over time.

  • A: We can collaborate with your child's teacher and provide progress reports for IEP and IPP meetings.

  • A: Perfect - so do most of our students! Our approach addresses the whole child, not just one label. ADHD with dyslexia? Gifted with anxiety? We've got you.

  • A: Quarterly assessments show objective progress. But parents usually notice changes much sooner - kids doing homework independently, reading for fun, or saying "I'm good at math now!"

  • A: Cancel anytime with 30 days notice. No contracts, no guilt. Though most families stay because their kids don't want to stop!

  • A: Yes, we have a sliding scale program for qualifying families. Contact us for details.
